The South Asian Long Term Care Foundation (Foundation) was registered as a Non-Profit organization under Societies Acts of Alberta in August 2008 also with a non-political and non-sectarian mandate. An application has been made with Canada Revenue Agency for charitable status. Current membership stands at 170 individual members and close to 20 supporting organizations. The Foundations has a board of 14 directors with an executive committee consisting of the President, Secretary, Treasurer and two Vice Presidents. A list of directors and executives is provided at the end of this submission. General body meetings are held once a year and board meetings are held first Monday of each month. To relieve loneliness and isolation of the aged and persons with disabilities by providing recreational, cultural and social activities.
To operate a long-term residential care facility that will provide support services for aged, ill or disabled persons, including personal care, housekeeping, meals ,nursing, shopping assistance and transportation to medical appointments;
